The Gallery is a digital ‘Exhibition’ of antique Burmese silver from the collection of David and Kathleen Owens. This collection was acquired over a period of five years from fine art galleries and other collectors in Burma (Myanmar), the UK, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.
There are seven ‘rooms’ in the Gallery, each displaying a different form or style of silver. The largest part of the collection comprises handcrafted and exquisitely decorated silver bowls, many of which tell alluring stories from Buddhist scriptures and Burmese mythology.
Photographs, catalogue data and descriptions of the silver can be viewed by clicking open the photo images below and selecting an individual piece of silver. The silver on exhibit will be rotated from time to time.
We hope you enjoy your visit to the digital Gallery and return often.
